What is Carboxy Therapy Treatment?
We do not only breathe in oxygen, but carbon dioxide is also in the air too! It is invisible and has no odour, and most important: it is non toxic!
Carboxy Therapy consists of microinjections of small amounts of Carbon Dioxide (C02) beneath your skin, just under its surface, by means of very thin needles. This gas is more soluble than oxygen, twenty times in fact, so it spreads fast.
This gas spreads around surrounding tissues and makes your blood vessels dilate. As a result, blood starts flowing faster and brings lots of extra oxygen and nutrients to the area which is being treated. Wider vessels mean a stronger blood flow, which brings a rush of oxygen and nutrients to the treated area. Oxygen generates hydrogen carbonate which in turn makes the pH value in the red blood cells go down, and so more oxygen is released. (Bohr effect),.As tissue cells absorb more oxygen, cell metabolism accelerates producing a self-healing effect of the skin. Therefore the tissue regeneration process gets activated.

This idea of using carbon dioxide is not new. It goes back to the 1830s in France. In the royal spas, People who suffered from bad circulation and had injuries or serious wounds used to attend royal spas and were bathed in waters rich in carbon dioxide to help the process of healing.
Danish doctor Christian Bohr developed this idea which was reported first in 1904, he proved carbon dioxide is the key to make our body think we need oxygen so our red blood cells will produce a surge of oxygen to make up the deficit. (Bohr’s effect)
